Director Programs


Being Director Programs at Khwendo Kor, Gullalai is leading all KK programs which are Education, Health, Civil Rights, Economic Empowerment and Humanitarian Response. They consist of around 20 projects across North West part of Pakistan. She has done M Phil in Economics from University of Peshawar Pakistan and also holds a post graduate certificate course from University of York United Kingdom.

Gul joined the development sector in 2008 working as a field coordinator in De Laas Gul (DLG)-a local NGO working on education, skills development and awareness raising. From there, she got the inspiration of working for the destitute and adopt the development sector as her career. She joined KK as proposal Development Coordinator in 2011 and was promoted to the position of Senior Program manager 2012 and ultimately to the Director Programs in 2013. Being the Economics graduate, she has also served as visiting faculty member in education sector such as Institute of Management Sciences and Preston University Peshawar Campus.

Gul's expertise are mainly in program and project development, report writing and training & mentoring on Gender mainstreaming and Masculinities. She has been involved in system and policy development for the organization and its programs. Mentoring, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning are major components of her job description.

She narrates, "KK has given me a platform, to learn and work for women rights wholeheartedly where I take a stand on issues and take initiatives to create an enabling environment for working towards gender equality".

She carries a number of recognitions and awards to her credit i.e. she was selected as a fellow Woman Leader for an International Visitors Leadership Program by United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2014. She is a member of Pakistan US Alumni Network since 2014. She was selected as a Fellow Human Rights Defender for a fellowship program by Centre for Applied Human Rights-University of York-United Kingdom in 2013. She is member of South Asian Network to Address Masculinities (SANAM) and attended a fellowship program on “Understanding Masculinities: Culture, Politics & Social Change” in Kathmandu Nepal in 2012. she has also done a story telling project with the title of “Ye ajeeb Aadmi”. She has also Co-chaired the End Violence Against Women/ Girls (EVAW/G) alliance KP chapter July 2012 to June 2013
